Day 1 – Since they finally have a captive audience,
they try and schedule as many events as possible. We had a “Behind the scenes” tour at 9:20,
cruise critic meet & greet at 11, a round-the-world wine tasting at 1, the
Latitudes (former passengers) party at 5, a veteran’s event at 6 and dinner in
Le Bistro at 6:30. We collapsed in a
heap at the end of the evening!!!
wet sheets go in - dry, folded come out the other end
(they have to hand fold all towels)
Day 2 – Scott was down hard, and I had developed a
cough, so we stayed in. I did manage to
sneak out for the VIP guest reception with the captain and senior
officers.
Day 3 – This was cruising Fiordland National Park,
specifically Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and Dusty Sound.
For Milford, we cruised in and then turned the ship at cruised back out the same way.
entering Milford Sound at dawn at the top of Milford Sound (our turnaround point)
turning to go out |
headed south to Doubtful Sound
entering Doubtful Sound Doubtful Sound leaving Doubful Sound
Both Doubtful and Dusky Sound have two entrances so we steamed in on the northenmost channel and out the south. In Dusky we did encounter some wildlife
a pod of bottlenose dolphins played off our starboard quarter |
Fur seals hauled out on of the rocks near the southern entrance |
leaving Dusky Sound |
With two time changes in two days, and going south, we are in a zone where sunsets are happening after dinner. Here are our three sea day sunsets:
