Glenelg

We have an eleventh floor apartment overlooking a park, and Holdfast Bay.

One neat thing about the apartment is the way the bedroom is set up.  It has sliding doors that make it into a separate room.  The only disadvantage is there is not a whole lot of space in the room, so our suitcases are on the floor in the living room.

The place is owned by a local artist.  Her seascapes are on the walls.

It's got a small kitchen, and you have to marvel at the efficency.  In the green column in the corner you have a microwave (above the oven), a dishwasher in the drawer below the oven, and a storage drawer for pots and pans below that.

Since it is predicted to be over 100 today, we did our exploring in the morning, taking advantage of the shadows caused by the high rise hotels and condos.

There are sculptures all around town.   This set of footprints are on the side of the hotel, and Scott found a landmark.

We walked out on the pier.

Town Hall is a visitor's center -- with a definite beach vibe

Another shot of the ferris wheel, as we head back home.

It officially got to 101 today.  We hid in the air conditioned apartment for most of the afternoon, then ventured out for a great Italian dinner just down the street.  (Chicken Parmesan for Scott and Spaghetti Carbonara for me, with a nice local Pinot Grigio.)

We got home just in time to enjoy the sunset.
