Monaco

We started the day off right – with cappuccino made in our suite.  Scott is in coffee heaven!

It’s supposed to be the sunny Riviera… but somebody forgot to tell Mother Nature.  We arrived in Monte Carlo to grey skies and intermittent showers.   We moored at the edge of a large yacht basin in front of the Casino and Hotel d’Paris.  We tromped around in the rain a bit, and wound our way up the hill to the Casino.  A step inside to say we had been there was all we managed.  (They allow visitors, but we weren’t formally dressed – the prerequisite for getting into the main casino.)

The day finished with the Captain’s cocktail party in the courtyard – a private area on deck 14 shared by the courtyard and garden villas.  We met some of the other guests staying in penthouse suites and chatted with some of the ship’s officers while enjoying champagne and hors d’oeuvres!
